If it holds fuel, we can usually save it.

Most tanks that arrive here were written off by someone else.

A leaking or dented tank rarely needs replacing. The bad metal gets cut out, new steel is let in and shaped to the original line, and seams are sealed properly. Slide the image to see inside one of ours: the same Yamaha tank, rusted through as it arrived, and repaired and sealed.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

01 / The photo

Send photos, or bring it in.

A few clear pictures of the damage are usually enough. We come back within one working day with an honest read: what it needs, what it will cost, and whether it is worth doing.

02 / The strip

Back to bare metal.

Paint and filler hide the truth. The tank comes back to bare steel so the full extent of the rot or damage is visible before anything is cut.

03 / The repair

Cut out, let in, welded.

Bad metal is cut out and new steel is shaped and let in to follow the original line. No skims of filler over rust. The repair is metal, done once, done properly.

04 / The test

Sealed and leak-tested.

Every tank is tested before it leaves, and finished to the standard the paint shop needs. If you want it taken further, chrome-standard finishing is what we are known for.

"If a tank is past saving, we will tell you. Then we can make you a new one, by hand, to the original pattern."

Straight answers

Tank repair, asked and answered.

Can a leaking tank be repaired?

Usually, yes. Pinholes, split seams and rust-through can almost always be repaired properly: bad metal out, new steel in, sealed and leak-tested. If it genuinely can't, we say so.

Steel and aluminium?

Both. Classics and modern bikes alike. Aluminium tanks and seat units are shaped and welded in-house, on the same bench as everything else.

What does it cost?

It depends entirely on the damage, so we quote from photos. Send pictures and we'll come back within one working day. If it isn't worth repairing, we'll tell you that too.

Can I post my tank?

Yes. Drain it completely and let it air before boxing it up, and put your contact details inside. Or drop it in Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:30.

What about custom paint?

Tell us before we start. Where a repair can be made from the underside or the inside, the paint can sometimes be saved. We'll give you an honest answer, not a promise we can't keep.

And if it's beyond repair?

We fabricate new tanks from scratch, formed by hand to the original pattern. We've made them for everything from a Flying Flea to a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
